ARCHITECTURE AWARD INARCH – ANCE PUGLIA

The Casa della Musica in Ostuni, has won the inaugural Regional Award for Architecture IN / ARCH-ANCE Puglia 2014. The designers of the former prison and firemen barracks of the White City have been rewarded.

The jury highlighted the ability to respond to a commendable program aimed at giving a new function to a degraded building (barracks) through an architecture at the same time measured in the language and fully responding to the desire to build a site dedicated to urban culture.

The Casa della Musica has been designed by the Arkitetti Flore & Venezia and Angelo Cariulo, commissioned by the town of Ostuni and built by Edil Costruzioni Quarta Srl. At the awards ceremony, organized by the regional section of the National Institute of Architecture, in collaboration with Ance Puglia and held at the Teatro Margherita in Bari, was attended the Governor of the Region of Puglia Nichi Vendola, the Mayor of Bari Enzo De Caro, President of Ance Puglia Nicola Delle Donne, President of the Regional Federation of the Architects Massimo Crusi and the In / Arch National Deputy President Francesco Orofino.
